Overview
ModelScope-Agent is an open-source agent framework from Alibaba's ModelScope community, integrating tool calling, RAG, multimodal support, and training/fine-tuning, with an emphasis on customizability: it runs demos in community notebooks and also supports domain fine-tuning of agents before deployment. ModelScope itself is a major hub of China's open-model ecosystem, and the framework connects smoothly with community datasets and model assets. It fits R&D teams building custom agents inside the ModelScope ecosystem or training their own tool-calling capabilities, plus research and teaching. Compared with Qwen-Agent, it leans toward the community ecosystem and the training loop, while Qwen-Agent binds more tightly to Qwen models. Self-hosted deployments keep data fully local.
